PC50F FLUORIDE CONTROLLER |
|
|
The PC50F is a rugged microprocessor based control system designed to measure and control Fluoride in acidic cleaners for Aluminium cans. The system is rated to IP65 and all exposed parts are chemically resistant. ![]() The PC50F Display The control panel has a touch-sensitive colour display giving process information in graphical format. The main screen shows the process value, setpoint, pump status, operating mode and alarm condition. By pressing on-screen buttons, the operator can access screens to make adjustments and gain further information about the process. A trend graph shows a 120-hour historical trend of the measured Fluoride ppm. Chemical usage is calculated from the pump run time. OperationThe system has three control modes - Auto, Manual and Off. In “Auto” mode the system controls chemical dosing according to the measured Fluoride. “Manual” mode is used in the event of a sensing failure. In this mode the operator can run the pump manually and retain control of the process. In “Off” mode the system monitors the chemical strength but doesn’t run the pump. This mode would be selected while maintenance is being carried out on the pump. At any time the operator may initiate a shot dose which will run the pump for a set period or until the shot dose is manually stopped. ![]() The PC50F Control Loop TrendingThe PC50F trending screens allow a clear view of the process over a 24-hour period. Historical data is stored enabling the operator to look back over the previous five days. Data LoggingWith the addition of a CompactFlash card, the PC50F can be configured to log system data points to a CSV (Excel) file. The files can be copied to a PC over USB or Ethernet. Alarm HandlingThe PC50F has a comprehensive alarm handling system that logs alarms and events. The log records the occurrence, acknowledgement and clearing of an alarm. Events such as changing the process setpoint, line stoppages and recalibration of the process value are also recorded. Remote AccessThe PC50F comes with DH485 and Ethernet communications to permit remote interrogation and data logging. The display contains an integrated web server allowing remote monitoring and adjustment over an Ethernet network using a standard PC with Internet Explorer. Sensor TechnologyThe PC50F sensing system utilises the pH600 two-wire 4-20mA current loop transmitter for interference free signal transmission to the control panel. The probe is a Model 762 with double-junction reference and temperature sensor mounted on a stainless steel wand. Fluoride measurement is achieved using signal linearisation to give true ppm readout.
